Had a great time here. It’s a family owned restaurant and the owner is so sweet and the staff is so friendly. They have a beautiful ambiance giving the Afghan vibes.Everything is house made and halal. We had: Naan with hummus(the best), Reshmi kabab( my favorite kabab in appetizer),Hot chicken wings,Samosa, Crispy Tenders platter, Crispy Zinger burger, Mixed platter with a combination of kebabs, rice and naan and A warm cup of chai. They have various desserts also. A must visit if you are in the area.
My friend and I had an amazing meal the other day at Afghan Kabob and Grill! It was my first time trying Afghani/Pakistani food and everything was delicious! Usman was very hospitable and kind and did a great job explaining the menu to us. We tried a bunch of appetizers including bolani kachalou, reshmi kebab, chicken samosa, loaded fries with beef and chicken, and pita with hummus and babaganoush. I have to say, the hummus was what really blew me away - how could something so simple be so delicious? We tried the cheeseburger and rice pilaf with assorted meats like lamb, chicken, beef and shrimp. The meats were all tender and seasoned well. I also really loved the mango lassi drink, it was thick, sweet and refreshing, perfect on a summer day. We finished off with familiar desserts like baklava which I’ve had before. Then we tried for the first time the gulab jamun, which was fried dough with sugar syrup flavored with rose water, as well as rasmalai, which was a dessert soaked in a rich milk and flavored with cardimon and nuts. It was really great to try so many new foods and experience a bit of the culture. I highly recommend this restaurant when in the North Brunswick area!
The food is really good, well portioned, and fairly priced. I ordered: 1. Vegetable Samosas. They are very large in size, but they are very tasty and served with mint chutney. The chutney is fresh w/ a hint of spice. 2. Lamb Gyro. Very tender and flavorful. I would definitely order again. 3. Vegetable Kachalou. The potato filling is delicious. My complaints are that the outer part of the deep fried shell was a bit overcooked and that it is deep fried. 4. Falafel, although deep fried, is light and fresh. Has a very nice flavor. Pros: 1. They have no problem giving you extra sauces on the side, and they are delicious. 2. Good portions and fair prices. 3. Nice selection of desserts 4. I am looking forward to trying more of their food.
Had to stop in the middle of eating and write a review because the food was great. We had the chicken kabob and the afghan cheese burger with fries and a green tea. The chicken was well cooked, soft and had a lot of flavor. The burger was done perfectly and the fries were very crispy, definitely will come back.
Had a truly amazing meal at Afghan Kebob and Grill! Every single dish was so yummy and fresh. The loaded fries and mango lassi were my absolute favorites. The staff is so sweet and attentive, we didn’t wait long for anything! I highly recommend and will definitely be back soon!!
This place deserves 1000 star rating! The food is too good! We ordered mix gyro platter (lamb & chicken) and chicken gyro platter, portion size , taste and presentation 10/10! The owner was so nice he offered us hummus to try out and omg it was mind blowing..!! The whole meal was very satisfying and definitely coming back for moreee! Y’all give it a try you won’t regret! Good luck!! 100/100 rating from me.
Big fan of the kebab. This establishment did not disappoint. Chicken was savory and loaded with a blend of spices to salivate. My entree was delectable and on par with the reviews of this restaurant. I plan to return here to try another dish. 9.6/10.
Ordered pickup from here a few times and was never disappointed. This place is a hidden gem! Portions are always great, prices are fair, and they always have my order ready.
